Haha, well I am moved.  Whoo!  I’m also passed the worst of my sickness, which means that I’m only hacking up lungs now, not my entire system.

*cough cough HACK*

Moving was a bit of an issue, however, as I was running up and down ramps, driving u hauls, carrying large boxes, and ordering my (awesome) friends around all while running a low grade fever and occasionally having to manually remember how to keep breathing.

It doesn’t particularly help that my roommate used to live on a fourth-floor walk up… which is the kind of thing I thought only existed in New York.  Luckily we weren’t moving any couches.

But two u haul trips later (one for my stuff and one for her stuff) and my room is full of boxes.  Now the issue is trying to unpack all of the stuff that I have somehow accumulated over the span of my life into a slightly smaller place with absolutely no shared closet space.

Yes yes, it’s nice, but where the heck am I supposed to put my luggage?

Process is… slow.  It’s more like the loading bar on a Windows 98 system with dial-up than I would rather it be, but that’s because it’s difficult to devote enough time to actually unpacking.  After all I moved on the first of July.  This meant that it was the same weekend as the Fourth of July (fireworks and food and friends!) as well as the annual Red, White and Dead Zombie Walk in Fremont.

Despite chants of “Respect Fremont” there was some collateral fake blood damage

Here are some awesome pictures of the day here and here.

Once again we were set to break a record, which New Jersey had recently set at 4,093.  And once again we did it!  The jury’s out by how much, some people said we had as many as 7,000 zombies (unlikely) others said that we beat New Jersey by about 400 (much more likely).  Either way, I’m a world record holder again!

As for walking while being sick…. well, you don’t really need a voice to moan for brains.  Which was good, since I didn’t have any. I also spent most of the prep time before the walk sleeping instead of partying in the beer gardens or dancing to music.  I had myself a good nap, even if I got stepped on a couple of times.

But something else started this weekend as well, Nanowrimo!  Some of you may who have been talking to me for awhile might remember my blatherings about Nanowrimo, some of those same may also be thinking “Wait, doesn’t that happen in November usually?” Congratulations to you imaginary reader!  You win ten thousand points.

This year NaNoWriMo decided to expand into another wonderful month of the year and is going by the name Camp Nanowrimo.  This means that I have one more month in which I commit to writing an entire 50,000 words… hopefully I can do more than just commit.

But it’s finally sunny in Seattle!!!

So between zombie walks, fourth of July, Nano’ing, and sickness I haven’t got much of my room unpacked.  But soon, soon we shall have a completed room.  Soon I will be anchored once again to this reality and not cut free and floating waiting for somewhere to feel like home again.
