Behold!  I am another year older!

I honestly wasn’t going to make a big deal out of this one, really.  I figured that it was an odd number and I had meetings that day any way, so what did it matter?

Unfortunately for me (fortunately?) I apparently have people in my life who care about keeping track of my birthdays.

I’m looking at you people

One text message from my mother was all it took for my former boss to send out a note to my old work, almost all of whom then decided to send me a birthday note.  Same text message got me notes, texts, emails and hellos from family friends that I haven’t spoken to in months.

As for more tangible connections, let me just say that Seattle loves it some cupcakes.  Between meetings, friends, and lovely things that my co-worker baked for me I had enough cupcakes to fill a bathtub.  After yesterday I’m probably carrying a pound of sugar around my midsection.

Old friends sent me gifts, my grandmother sent me the nicest card ever, and my parents called to let me know that they’re sending me a really cool bracelet from RCPM.  (I am excited!).

So, while I am in the midst of sending thank you cards*, I wanted to send another shout out to all my friends who made yesterday incredibly special.  You’re all awesome.

*see, I’m an adult.  Really!  I swear.  Wait, why are you shaking your head like that?  Is it because I’m in a tree?
